During the season, the Norbury Theatre presents a "Children's Theatre" production on the third Saturday of every month.
These productions are short, small cast plays specially written and presented by adults for children and suitable for ages 3 - 10. They take the form of mini pantomimes in that they contain songs, slapstick-style humour, goodies, baddies, chases and the like. They provide children with a perfect first step into theatre.
The Norbury's small auditorium and proximity of the audience to the stage enhances the magical theatre experience for children of all ages and the performances are always well-attended. Another popular feature of Childrens Theatre is that the characters from the play come out to meet and chat to the children in the foyer after the show.
Childrens Theatre productions begin at 2.30pm, with Nestlé and Bennetts Ice Cream and a range of sweets on sale beforehand! Tickets are priced at just £1.50 and so it makes an ideal treat for youngsters to look forward to on a regular basis.
