JULY

The Norbury Players present an amateur production
"A Midsummer Night's Dream"
As the Artisans of Athens rehearse a play to be presented to Thesus, Duke of Athens, on his marriage to Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, all is not well in the Fairy World.
The capricious activities of Oberon, King of the Fairies, and Puck, his mischievous jester, seeking revenge on Oberon's wife, Titania spill into the real world of Athens, causing chaos and misunderstanding in both worlds.
Add a mixture of jealousy and misunderstanding between four lovers, and you know why the course of love "never did run smooth".
So come and enjoy a play where time is suspended and nothing is what it seems.
After all, it is a dream!

7.30pm Wednesday 5th - Saturday 8th September
The Norbury Players present an amateur production
"A Murder is Announced"
by Agatha Christie, adapted by Leslie Darbon
The "announcement" is in the local paper, stating time and place of a murder to occur in Miss. Blackstock's early Victorian House. However, the victim is not one of the several occupants, temporary and permanent, but an unexpected and unknown visitor.
What follows is a classic Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities, a second death and a determined Inspector grimly following the twists and turns, with Miss. Marple on hand to provide the final solution, at some risk to herself, in a dramatic confrontation scene just before the final curtain.
Tickets £10.00 (£9.00 concessions)
